Founder and Principal
Jason began his career working in sports in 2000 with Brigham Young University in the Athletic Marketing Department. There he took on an additional role of managing and supervising the Licensing Program for the University. He then took a position with the WNBA Utah Starzz as the Director of Promotions and Game Operations, managing all in-game entertainment, marketing and operations.
In 2005, Jason worked with the Salt Lake Bees Triple-A Minor League Baseball Affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. There he managed game promotions, ticket sales, sponsorship sales and event management for the team. He went on to work for the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Utah Sports Commission as the Director of Sports Market Sales, soliciting sporting events and meetings from regional, national and international organizations. In this role, he landed events that produced an economic impact of over 25MM/year.
In 2010, Jason was then recruited away to the Orem Owlz, Rookie Level Minor League Baseball Affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as the General Manager for the team. In his time there, he helped the team increase overall revenues by 25%, increase attendance by 28% (2nd in all of minor league baseball of 160 minor league teams) and recorded the franchise’s single game attendance record in his last season in 2011.
At the close of the Orem Owlz season, he left baseball and launched Rainmaker Management Group (RMG). RMG is a full-service sports marketing and branding agency, specializing in sports consulting and sports product manufacturing. Clients included the Utah Blaze Arena Football team (AFL), Intermountain Volleyball Association (USA Volleyball Region Member), Orem Owlz (Rookie Level of the LA Angels) along with various racing industry and entertainment clients.
In 2014, Jason launched 4MOGEN, a small consulting firm focused on areas of sponsorship, fundraising and marketing for non-profit organizations while providing solutions for companies on their promotional branded products. A number of clients 4MOGEN works with are; the new George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Theater, Golden Gloves of America, Broadview University, and Westminster College.
Jason grew up in Dover, Delaware where he also played college baseball for Delaware State University before transferring to Brigham Young University. He received his B.S. from Brigham Young University and his MBA from Westminster College. He resides in South Jordan, Utah with his wife Kari and three sons and two daughters. He enjoys travel and sports (especially combining the two), golf, cooking, baking and spending time with family.
